Laura & Jon's Wedding DayLaura Marie Scott Sunday, August 20, 2017 Luxury wedding florist Fabienne Egger's work initially sparked my interest during my husband and I's wedding planning preparations last November. Her work came recommended by the wonderful At Home Catering who catered on our wedding day.
We were looking for somebody who was not only talented and passionate about their work, but one who could work with us to help our creative floristry vision come true. We had a Winter Wedding and our colour theme was opulent Burgundy and Gold and we wanted our wedding flowers to reflect our concept. We also had a short time frame to organise everything, three months! Fabienne took a professional and personalised approach with us from the very beginning, our initial meeting was wonderful and enjoyed chatting through floristry ideas over a glass of wine. In terms of our dining room décor we wanted a luxurious yet rustic feel to each table using warm coloured flowers sitting in ornate golden bowls lit up by candlelight. In the centre of each table a display of beautiful burgundy, pinks and cream flowers surrounded by an explosion of golden twigs and delicate foliage. For my bouquet we included burgundy calla lilies, chocolate cosmos, pink, cream and ivory coloured spray roses, wax flowers and springs of gold eucalyptus, my bridesmaids had bouquets to reflect mine. My husband and groomsmen had a cream rose accompanied with seasonal foliage and wax flowers. One our wedding day itself it was so wonderful to see our creative vision come to life. One of Fabienne's team delivered the beautiful bouquets to my home whilst we was getting ready, I loved the personalised touch. We had our wedding dinner and reception at the stunning Fetcham Park and the impact of Fabienne's floristry work was seen in the stunning dining room, the salon. The room itself is adorned with opulent gold leaf and a twinkling crystal chandeliers. The warm flowers lit up by candlelight really complimented the room so nicely and made our golden and aubergine table-wear spring to life. We were delighted by the attention to detail that had been demonstrated by Fabienne and her team. Overall we were heartwarmingly happy with our Wedding Day flowers. You can see photographs of the Wedding Day on SheHearts http://shehearts.net/winterweddingfetchampark/ Fabienne's work continuously impresses. She's currently working closely with Cohim Flower School in China teaching an Intensive & Comprehensive Floral Design Course. The students are learning to design hand tied bouquets, table centre pieces, pedestal arrangements as well as banqueting and wedding installation techniques. “Teaching in Beijing is always a challenge, I love working with different cultures, learning more about their country, food and their lifestyle. I always look forward to my next trip to China” -Fabienne Egger. The photographs on Fabienne's instagram account of her work in China are a pleasure to see. If you're looking for a passionate and highly motivated wedding florist to work with you to help made your Wedding Floristry dream come true I would highly recommend Fabienne. A pleasure to work with.

2017 summer wedding trend tips Fabienne Egger, Monday, 26th March, 2017 I’ve done my fair share of weddings over the years in Surrey, London and other parts of the UK and Europe, and at the beginning of each year I enjoy looking at what is predicted to be the year aheads floral wedding trends. With summer fast approaching here are my top tips for summer weddings…
Wildflowers were once unthinkable but are now one of the top wedding flower trends. Created mainly from seasonal flowers and staples like olive branches, eucalyptus and ferns, wildflower arrangements are rustic and utterly charming – perfect for the boho wedding which is simple and in tune with nature. Whilst some brides like to push the style boundary, there will always be a desire for traditional and classic bridal bouquets such as the posy or round bouquet. The posy is a hand held looser bouquet with mixed seasonal flowers and very easy to hold. Round bouquets are formed into perfect domes, often using a single type of flower like roses or peonies. Round bouquets are often monochromatic, although they look just as beautiful featuring flowers in a variety of colours. The most popular flowers are still Hydrangeas, Peonies, Roses and Dahlias. Blush continues to be one of the most requested colour choices, but mixed with deep shades of burgundy or Fuchsia, orange and rust. The use of branches, leaves and vines has been growing steadily, and this is expected to explode in 2017. My top two top picks are passion flowers and jasmine. Tall glass trumpet vases are making a comeback. Sitting above guests' heads they allow for large, lush arrangements. In contrast, there is a renaissance of linear, more tailored centrepieces, as opposed to the loose, fresh picked style that’s been popular in recent years. These structured arrangements fall in line with the trend towards a more classic wedding look overall. Garlands are more likely to be seen during the Christmas period, but can now be seen across all seasons. Usually placed on long rectangle tables, which are a new trend in themselves, or as a car decoration, they are easy to decorate. Garlands can be made with Ivy, Ferns or Jasmine and need a lot of foliage. Flowers used to decorate the garland should enhance the wedding colour theme to tie it all into place. And finally, my favourite are hanging flowers and chandeliers, also known as canopies or installations. They look absolutely gorgeous and really stand out. Many designs for the chandeliers are simplistic yet have an undeniable WOW factor, some are covered in foliage with plenty of green on show whereas others have long stemmed pretty pastel coloured flowers hanging down. It’s a statement piece for any wedding. For a free wedding consultation click here for more information. Mother’s Day Floristry ClassFabienne Egger, Wednesday 1st, March, 2017 Although my mum is a florist I still love to treat her to a beautiful bouquet for Mother’s Day with my own personal touch added – her favourite flowers, colours or scented candles. Just like Valentine’s you can’t avoid how commercial the day has become but you can still be creative and show your mum just how important she is and how you appreciate all she does by giving her something different.
We are all time poor and guilty of not spending enough time with our loved ones so this Mother’s Day I have created a special course that gives you the opportunity to spend a day together and create two luxurious hand tied floral bouquets. I will teach you both my wrapping techniques and how to combine flowers and colours together to create the perfect arrangements. Your first bouquet will be a compact, short, domed hand tied bouquet wrapped with layers of tissue. You will then learn how to create a larger, long stemmed bouquet with seasonal flowers and a different type of wrapping. The class takes place on Saturday 25th March in The Dome at the stunning Medicine Garden, a Victorian walled garden in Cobham and will run from 10am until 4pm for £189 per person. Floral Tasters with the PressFabienne Egger, Thursday, 23rd February, 2017 February was the launch of my very first press taster session where I met up with a group of journalists and bloggers including the wonderful VOUZ!Magazine to demonstrate the courses that I teach at the Cobham Medicine Garden and Morton’s Club in London. It was a fun afternoon with lots crammed in as we created a stunning floral centre piece, talked about the latest in table design and dressing and everyone unleashed their inner artist by creating a picture-perfect succulent plant and fresh flower frame. Gabrielle at A Glass Of Ice is the first to blog about the event so take a peak at what she thought here. Big thanks to everyone that attended and Morton's Club & KML Events Ltd for hosting the event and VOUZ!Magazine for featuring me in their March online edition.
